Mobile workforce A primer
LAN based office technology is rapidly becoming obsolete, as companies begin to shift away from information networks that restrict access to the four walls of an office environment. The reality of our evolving global economy is that it requires a mobile workforce that will work from anywhere, not one that is limited by a LAN based network. Mobile workforce visibility services enable IT managers to monitor activities at the other end of the network. Could workers be downloading inappropriate applications or games to their laptops or logging in to wireless connections at such unsecure locations as coffee shops or airport lounges? These same mobile workforce visibility services also empower IT departments with the ability to monitor which endpoints are missing important security patches and which have the latest firewalls and antivirus software securely in place. In Case of Emergency (ICE) services are another important component of a mobile workforce solutions platform.
